Kristi Getson

Kristi Getson is the passionate and committed Chief Operating Officer of Personalized Therapy, LLC, where she has been a pinnacle of our clinic’s growth, spirit, and mission since its earliest days. Her path into the world of therapeutic services was shaped by personal experience: in 2002, her son Matt was diagnosed with Autism at the age of four. What followed was an intensive and often overwhelming journey of advocacy as Kristi sought out the best interventions to support her child’s development.

It was during that time that Kristi met Melanie Lohwater, a gifted therapist whose approach stood out immediately. Their connection was instantaneous—rooted in shared values, mutual respect, and a deep understanding of what compassionate, effective care could look like. When Melanie founded Personalized Therapy in 2006, Matt became one of her first patients, and Kristi became a fixture in the clinic. From answering phones to helping families feel welcome, Kristi’s role grew naturally out of her presence—and her heart. In 2007, Melanie made it official, welcoming Kristi to the team not just as an employee, but as a partner in building something meaningful. They share a vision: one centered on compassionate, personalized support for every client, unwavering dedication to the local community, and the fortitude to lead through both growth and challenge.

In 2012, Kristi played a pivotal role in launching the clinic’s Behavioral Health division—bringing ABA therapy to a region that previously lacked access. Her own fight to secure a 40-hour home-based ABA program for Matt, long before those services were available locally, gave her the insight and determination to make them accessible for other families.

Before joining Personalized Therapy, Kristi developed her expertise in financial operations, business management, and human resources while working with Department of Defense contractors supporting the U.S. government. She served as Business Operations Director at TITAN/L-3’s Structures Division and held a Human Resources leadership role at ManTech Corporation. In these roles, she managed government contracts, led HR administration for hundreds of employees, and oversaw critical organizational functions in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. This professional background gave her the operational discipline and strategic mindset she brings to the clinical world today.

As Chief Operating Officer, Kristi leads the strategic planning and financial stewardship of the organization, ensuring the long-term vitality and sustainability of Personalized Therapy. Her focus remains on aligning operations with mission, strengthening fiscal health, and positioning the company for continued growth and meaningful impact in the lives of the families they serve.

Outside the office, Kristi enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons—both college graduates—trying new recipes, gathering with friends over board games and wine, traveling, and lounging poolside.
